Brittany’s signature timepieces are manufactured to the highest standards of Swiss technology and precision. By insisting on only the finest component parts, we are able to guarantee that each timepiece is a product of impeccable quality and value. Each and every watch has been assembled from Swiss parts and is guaranteed to be accurate to within one minute per year.

Every watch features a genuine sapphire crystal and is 100% water-resistant. The stainless steel we use is surgical quality. Our gold and rose gold plating makes use of the latest state-of-the-art technology, with PVD deposits of gold and TiN (Titanium Nitrate) alloy to permeate and harden the stainless steel. The plating will wear equivalent to 5-10 microns of traditional galvanic gold plating. All watches are covered by a three-year limited warranty, which starts the day the watch is purchased and registered.

Quartz Watches vs. Automatic Mechanical Watches

Quartz movement essentially means the watch is powered by a battery. In simple terms, an electrical current from a battery gives power to the quartz crystal within the movement, allowing it to vibrate. Then, the vibrations from the quartz crystal cause the movement to oscillate and drive the motor, moving the hands on the face of the watch.

Advantages of Quartz Watches

One main advantage of a quartz caliber is accuracy. Quartz movements are far more accurate than mechanical movements. In addition to accuracy, quartz watches are more convenient. Aside from a battery change every couple of years, a quartz watch will continue to run without the need to wear it or wind it. And finally, watches with quartz movements are less expensive than mechanical watches—especially when you’re considering luxury watches.

Automatic Mechanical Watches

While a quartz movement gets its power from a battery, an automatic mechanical movement uses energy from the motion of a wearer’s wrist. Every time the watch moves, a rotor within the caliber spins and automatically winds the mainspring—which is why automatic movements are also referred to as self-winding movements. The gathered energy is then released from the mainspring through a barrel to the gear trains, powering the timepiece. As long as the watch is worn, it will continue to have power.
